Based on the Pythagorean theorem: In a right triangle, the square of the hypotenuse (longest side, across from the right angle) equals the sum of squares of the other two sides:![]()

It doesn’t matter what units (feet, meters, inches), so long as the proportional lengths 3:4:5 are followed.![]()
